Okay, so I saw this Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG and I thought, “I gotta have it!” But, you know, the price tag? Ouch. So, I decided to make my own version. Yep, you heard that right!

First, I went online and looked up a bunch of pictures of the bag. I mean, a whole lot of them. Front, back, sides, the strap, the logo – you name it. I needed to see every little detail. Then, I started sketching. I grabbed a piece of paper and started drawing out the shape of the bag. It’s kind of like a little box, but with rounded edges.

After that, I had to figure out what to make it out of. I ended up using some faux leather I found in a local store. It wasn’t the real deal, but it looked pretty close and it was way cheaper. I cut out the pieces based on my sketch, making sure to leave some extra room for seams.

Next, I sewed the pieces together. This was probably the trickiest part. I don’t have a fancy sewing machine, just an old one my grandma gave me. But I managed to get it done. I sewed the sides to the front and back, then I added the bottom. It was starting to look like a bag!

  • Found some faux leather.
  • Cut out the pieces for the bag.
  • Sewed the pieces together.
  • Added a zipper.
  • Made a strap.

I also added a zipper to the top so my stuff wouldn’t fall out. That was a bit of a pain, but I got it in there. For the strap, I used a long strip of the same faux leather and sewed it to the sides of the bag.

The Logo

Now, for the logo. I couldn’t exactly replicate the YSL logo, but I wanted something similar. So, I got creative and made my own logo out of some metal pieces I found. I attached it to the front of the bag, and it actually looked pretty cool.

Finally, I lined the inside of the bag with some soft fabric. I didn’t want my things getting scratched up. And that was it! My very own, handmade version of the YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. And it definitely didn’t cost me an arm and a leg!
