Hey there, folks! Today, I want to share my latest project with y’all – remaking the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. I’ve always been a fan of YSL. You know, they’ve got those timeless designs that just never go out of style. And, they are known for their quality and keeping their value, which is a big plus. They are carefully made and you can see it in all the small details, which makes them really high quality and classy.

So, I got this idea to try and make my own version of the JUNE BOX BAG. This bag is really popular and I saw a chance to not only save some money but also to have a little fun creating something myself. I figured, why not give it a shot?

First things first, I had to gather my materials. I already had some leather lying around from previous projects. I also needed some thread, needles, and a few other bits and pieces. I didn’t rush into buying anything fancy since I was using stuff I already had, and I wanted to see how it would turn out before investing more.

I started by carefully studying the bag’s design. I looked at a bunch of pictures online and paid close attention to the details. I made some rough sketches and took some notes about the dimensions and how the bag was put together. This part took a while, but I wanted to make sure I understood the design before I started cutting into the leather.

Once I had a good grasp of the design, I started working on the pattern. I used some old cardboard to make a template. It was a bit tricky getting the measurements just right, but after a few tries, I had a template I was happy with.

With the template ready, I began cutting the leather. This was probably the most nerve-wracking part. I double-checked everything before making each cut because, you know, you can’t really undo a cut in leather. It took some patience, but I managed to cut out all the pieces I needed.

Next, I started stitching the pieces together. This is where things got a bit messy. I definitely poked myself with the needle a few times, but hey, that’s part of the process, right? There were some tricky parts, especially around the corners and edges, but I just took it slow and tried to keep my stitches as neat as possible.

After many hours of stitching and a fair amount of sweat, I finally finished assembling the bag. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty darn proud of it! It looked a lot like the real YSL JUNE BOX BAG, which was really exciting.

Challenges Faced

  • Getting the measurements right: This was tough. I had to redo the template a couple of times to make sure everything would fit together perfectly.
  • Cutting the leather: Making those cuts was stressful. I was so worried about messing up, but I took it slow, and it turned out okay.
  • Stitching: Some parts were really tricky to stitch, especially the corners. I had to be super careful and patient.

All in all, this project was a fun and rewarding experience. I learned a lot, and I ended up with a bag that I’m proud to carry around. Plus, I saved a good chunk of money by making it myself.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. If you’re thinking about trying something like this, I say go for it! Just be prepared to put in some time and effort, and don’t be afraid to make a few mistakes along the way. Happy crafting, y’all!
