Oh, honey, you won’t believe the kinda watches I seen the other day. They call ’em Jaeger-LeCoultre, sounds fancy, don’t it? This one, it’s called a Reverso Tribute Chronograph. Now, I ain’t never heard of no “chronograph” before, but it sounds important. And “Reverso”? Like you can reverse it? I don’t know. This old brain can’t keep up with all these newfangled names. But let me tell you, these watches, they’re somethin’ else.

They say this Reverso Tribute Chronograph is special for the stores. Like, only the fancy stores get ’em. Must be real special then, right? I seen some pictures, and they look shiny. Real shiny. Not like the old Bulova my man used to wear. His was a Bulova Classic Quartz, real simple. This here Jaeger-LeCoultre, it’s got all sorts of, what do you call ’em? Dials and buttons. My old eyes can barely make ’em out! These new watches, they got so much going on. The Bulova, that was just a plain watch. You know, tells the time.

This Reverso, it’s like two watches in one! You flip it over, and there’s another watch face on the back. Now, why would you need two watch faces? Beats me. Maybe one for when you’re workin’ in the yard, and one for when you’re goin’ to church. Who knows. But it sure is somethin’ to look at. It’s like magic! I remember seein’ a watch like that, years ago. It was a fake. Some fella tried to sell it to my boy. Said it was a real Grand Sport model. He googled the number, 295859, and found out it was a fake. This Reverso, I hope it ain’t fake. Too pretty to be fake.

They say this Jaeger-LeCoultre, they keep up with the times. They make these Reverso watches, and they’re always changin’ ’em, makin’ ’em better. Like how we used to have them old rotary phones, and now everyone’s got them little computers in their pockets. This here watch, they say it’s got somethin’ called a “Caliber 822”. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds expensive. Must be what makes it tick so good. It’s for the Reversos that don’t have two faces. They call them “non-duoface”. Like a “no-nonsense” kinda thing.

These Reverso watches, they’re for fancy folks, I reckon. Lots of them little doohickeys on ’em. “Complications,” they call ’em. Makes it sound like a bad thing, but I guess it ain’t. Just means it does more than tell the time. I seen another watch, called an IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph. Now that’s a mouthful! It’s big and shiny too. Must be for them rich folks who have yachts. That one was almost ten thousand dollars! Can you believe that? For a watch! It has something called a “cal. 89361.” I don’t know what that is. Must be fancy.

This Reverso Tribute Chronograph, they say it’s a good size. Not too big, not too small. 29.9mm wide. That’s what they said. And 11.14mm thick. And 49.4mm long. I don’t know what all that means, but it sounds just right. Like Goldilocks and the three bears. Not too big, not too small, just right.

Now, some folks say these Jaeger-LeCoultre watches are fancy. Like, real fancy. They say they’re up there with other fancy brands. I can’t remember their names. Something like, “Vacheron Constantin,” maybe, and “A. Lange & Sohne.” They’re like the Cadillacs of watches. And even a “Patek.” I don’t know these names. They say these Reverso watches are for grown-ups. Mature folks. Like me, I guess. But it ain’t just for old folks. You can wear it with jeans and sneakers, they say. And a polo shirt. This Reverso, it’s a sports watch, they say. But it was made a long time ago, in 1931. So it looks old, but it’s sporty. Like me tryin’ to do the jitterbug!

Some folks, they buy these watches, and they keep ’em for years. They say they’re a good investment. Like puttin’ your money in the bank, but you get to wear it on your wrist. I guess that’s a good thing. Better than losin’ it all at the bingo hall!

Here’s what I think about these Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph watches:

  • They’re real pretty.
  • They’re real fancy.
  • They got lots of little doohickeys.
  • They’re expensive.
  • They might be a good investment.
  • They’re like two watches in one.
  • They’re only in special stores.

So, there you have it. That’s what I know about these Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph watches. If you got the money, and you like fancy things, maybe you should get yourself one. Me? I’m gonna stick with my old Timex. It tells the time just fine, and I don’t need no fancy “chronograph” to tell me when it’s time for supper. And I sure don’t need two watch faces!
