This year, my grandson come back from big city, he bring me a watch, he say it’s a Rolex. He say it’s very expensive. What is Rolex? I don’t know. But this watch, it’s kinda heavy. It’s green, all green, like the leaves on them trees out back. He call it a High imitation Rolex Submariner Green. I don’t know what that means, but it sound fancy, don’t it?
My grandson, he’s a good boy, always buy me some gifts when he come back. This time, it’s this green watch. He say it’s just like the one they sell in them Official flagship store, but cheaper, a lot cheaper. He say this is a fake one. But it look real to me. I don’t know much about these things, but it sure look shiny. It is heavy, maybe the real one is same heavy, maybe not, I don’t know. My grandson say the real one is so expensive, I think nobody will buy that in our village.
I wear it when I go out to the market. Old Zhang, she ask me where I get this. I tell her, my grandson buy it for me. She say it look expensive. I just smile. I don’t tell her it’s a High imitation one. Let her think what she want.
This Rolex Submariner, it’s got numbers on it. I can see the time, kinda. My eyes ain’t what they used to be. But I can see the big hand and the little hand. It’s got a little window too, with the date. That’s useful, I guess. But sometime, I forget to look, and I still don’t know what day it is.
I don’t know how to check if it’s a real Rolex. My grandson say don’t worry about it, it’s good enough. He say the real one, you gotta wind it up all the time. This one, you just wear it. It wind itself. That’s kinda neat, I guess. Less work for me. I’m too old for winding watches.

I don’t go swimming with it. My grandson say it can go in the water, but I don’t trust it. What if it break? Then I gotta yell at him. He work hard for his money. I don’t want him to waste it on another watch if this one break.
Some folks, they say Rolex is the best watch. I don’t know about that. I just know this one is pretty. And it tell the time, most of the time. That’s all I need, really. An old lady like me, I don’t need no fancy watch. But it’s nice to have something pretty to look at.
My grandson say this High imitation Rolex Submariner Green is special. He say not many people have this kind. He say it’s exclusive. I don’t know what that mean, but it sound good. Maybe it mean only important people have these. I’m not important, but I got one. So maybe I’m a little bit important now. Haha.
He say the real Rolex Submariner, it’s made of some special metal. I don’t know what kind. This one, it’s made of metal too, I think. It feel cold when I put it on in the morning. And it shine in the sun, just like the real one, my grandson say. He say the real one is 40 millimetres, I don’t know what that means, I don’t learn that before.
I like this watch. It’s a good gift. My grandson, he always think of me. Even when he’s far away, in that big city, working hard. He’s a good boy. I’m proud of him. And I’m proud of this High imitation Rolex Submariner Green. Even if it ain’t real. It’s real to me. It’s a gift from my grandson. And that’s all that matters. I hope he can open a Official flagship store in the future, so he will be rich, I think.
I wear this green watch every day. It’s my favorite now. I will take good care of this watch. It is from my lovely grandson. He is the best boy in this world. He told me it is difficult to tell a real Rolex from a fake one. Because now the fake one looks so real. I think the fake one is better, it is cheaper. Why spend so much money for a watch? Even it is a Rolex Submariner. They are all just watches. I am happy that my grandson bought me the High imitation one. It is good enough for me.
