This here Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-011, they call it a “specialty store” watch. Well, ain’t that somethin’? I reckon it’s fancy, all shiny and new. It’s got a big ol’ white gold case, 40 mm, they say. Big enough to see the time without squintin’, that’s for sure. And that black face? Looks like a checkerboard to me, all them lines and squares.
They say it’s a “dress watch.” Back in my day, we just had one watch, and we wore it for everything! Church, plantin’ the garden, churnin’ butter, didn’t matter. But this here Patek Philippe, I guess it’s too good for garden dirt. Only for fancy folks and wearin’ to town, I reckon.
- That there Calatrava 6007G-011 is made of white gold.
- It’s got a black dial, look like little squares all over.
- They say it’s 40 mm, whatever that means. Big enough to see, though!
- They call it a “dress watch.” Too fancy for everyday, I guess.
- Price? They say over $30k. That’s a lot of money!
Now, this price tag… Woo-wee! They say it’s over $30,000. Thirty thousand dollars! You could buy a whole herd of cows for that kind of money! Or a new tractor! Or, well, you get the idea. That’s a lot of money for a little ol’ watch.
They say it is good, though. The best, someone told me. Patek Philippe Calatrava, that’s a name you hear folks whisperin’ about. Like it is some kind of treasure. And I guess it is, in a way. They say they’ve been makin’ these things since way back when, 1839 or somethin’. That’s a long time. Longer than I’ve been around, that’s for sure!
This here 6007G-011, they say it’s special. They call it “graphic.” That just means it’s got all them lines and squares, I reckon. Makes it look modern, they say. I reckon it is a bit different from the old pocket watches my grandpa used to carry.
But is it worth it? That’s what you young folks always ask. Is it “worth it?” Well, I don’t know. If you got that kind of money burnin’ a hole in your pocket, maybe. It’s a pretty thing. A real pretty thing. And they say it will last forever. Probably outlast me, that’s for darn sure.
But if you ain’t got that kind of money, don’t you worry none. There are plenty of other watches out there. Watches that tell the time just as good. Maybe they ain’t as shiny, maybe they ain’t made of white gold, but they do the job. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Knowin’ what time it is so you ain’t late for supper.
They say, if you want one of these fancy Patek Philippe watches, you might have to wait. And not just a little while. They say for some of ’em, like the Nautilus, you might be waitin’ eight years! Eight years! Can you imagine? I coulda grown a whole orchard in that time!
This Calatrava, though, it is good for wearin’ every day. The folks said that. The old one, the 5196, that was just for dressin’ up. But this one, the 6007G, that’s good for every day. It is got a fancy bezel, they call it “Clous de Paris.” Sounds French to me. And the hands, they stand up, so you can see ’em real good.
This company, Patek Philippe, they are always doin’ somethin’ new. They got three new ones, all white gold, all lookin’ kinda like this 6007G-011. All black faces, all with them lines and squares. They say it’s “rhythmic geometry.” I just say it looks neat.
And they got another one, the 6007G-010. It is a lot like this one, but maybe a little different. It’s over $34k! Another chunk of change, that is! But they are all Patek Philippe Calatrava. And they are all gonna cost ya.
So there you have it. That’s what I know about this here Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-011. It’s a fancy watch, that’s for sure. A real fancy watch. Whether it’s worth all that money, well, that’s up to you. But I’ll tell you one thing, it sure is pretty to look at.
